Stephen C. Myers
As associate provost, Stephen
C. Myers has a leadership role in building the infrastructure and relationships
necessary to deploy the Discovery Themes initiative. He is also responsible for
developing and implementing a university-wide outreach and engagement program.
Currently the Carole A. Anderson Faculty Fellow, he was a Fellow in the
American Council on Education from 2011 to 12.
From 2005 to 2012, Dr. Myers
was assistant director of the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center
(OARDC), where he led the development of the Ohio BioProducts Innovation Center.
Dr. Myers was chair of Ohio
State’s Department of Horticulture and Crop Science from 1999 to 2005. Earlier appointments include service as
head of the Department of Horticulture at the University of Arkansas and
leadership of a teaching, extension outreach, and research program specializing
in pomology at the University of Georgia.
Dr. Myers received BS and MS
degrees from Clemson University and a PhD from The Ohio State University.
He is a member of the
National Issues Task Force in the American Society for Horticultural Science
and serves on the Boards of PolymerOhio, Inc., the Godman Guild, and the
Economic and Community Development Institute.
