Welcome to the Office of Academic Affairs

Jpseph A. Alutto, Interim Executive Vice President and Provost

Joseph A. Alutto
Executive Vice President and Provost

As Executive Vice President and Provost, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the web site of the Office of Academic Affairs at The Ohio State University.

One of the world's great institutions of higher learning, Ohio State is defined by its unexcelled teaching and learning opportunities, its vibrant culture of intellectual and creative contribution, its proudly diverse academic community, and its history of service to constituents around the globe.

The primary responsibility of the Office of Academic Affairs is ensuring and encouraging the vitality of these academic values. We do so by spearheading the university's progress in academic programming, faculty development, and student academic affairs.

Promoting our excellence in these areas calls for strategic plans that align and integrate the goals of the university, our colleges, and their departments. We are presently developing or revising such plans university wide. Later this year, the strategic plans of all Ohio State colleges will be available at this website. By publishing these plans, we will be making all issues as transparent as possible to our faculty, staff, students, and the community. We will also be holding ourselves accountable for the success of our strategic vision.

I invite you to explore this website to learn more about our strategic planning initiative and our other academic priorities for 2007-08. This site will also introduce you to this office, my colleagues, and me, and what we are doing to stimulate and enable academic excellence at Ohio State.

Please plan to return often for updates on all of these activities.

Sincerely,

Joseph A. Alutto

Joseph A. Alutto
Executive Vice President and Provost
